“Thank you for taking a continued interest in my music. The fires have been particularly bad here. I was involved in covering the event for three weeks solid.... A tough and particularly emotional experience, to say the least. After being asked to write a song about the event, I initially said that I didn't think that I would be able to, given the state I was in at the time. After a week I started to function a little better and found the thought of the volunteer personnel kept coming back to me with their - "Never say die" attitudes. After that realisation, I was able to write and record the track within seven day period. Deputy Prime minister Michael McCormack and the Commissioner for Rural Fire Service (RFS) have contacted me as a show of support. Thanks again and hope all is well. Please say Gday to the crew. Warm regards. Scott”
